The Q Revo is a good option for those looking for a mid-priced robot vacuum and mop. It's got a fantastic mopping capabilities, but is lacking some of the advanced features of its more expensive counterpart.

1. IRobot Roomba S9+

The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is among the best-rated robots. It is loaded with features and impressive cleaning power, including the dirt compartment built into the base of charging. This robot can recognize your habits of cleaning, and recommend automatic schedules to provide you with an effortless cleaning experience.

Setup is easy, thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the process. Once everything is connected, you can begin the automated cleaning functions with the touch of the button. You can choose a general clean which focuses on the elimination of larger debris such as rice and cereal. Or you can choose two mappings to ensure that the entire home is cleaned thoroughly.

This robot vac performs well on both bare floors and carpet with a low pile. It sucks up large items and doesn't lose suction as rapidly as some others do and can pick up pet hair without difficulty. It does have a hard time with plush or high-pile carpet, however iRobot promises it will improve with future models.

The S9+ is a new design from iRobot that is focused on improving corner and edge cleaning. It's the very first Roomba that uses an open-fronted, flat-fronted design. The company hopes that this will allow it to fit into the furniture and walls. It's a nice improvement over the standard hockey puck shape of the majority of robovacs. However, we discovered it to be only marginally better than circular models.

iRobot also claims that the S9+ comes with a superior filter system that prevents tiny dust particles and allergens from circulating throughout your home. It's a nice premise, but we're not convinced it's enough to justify the premium price price.

Its smart navigation system uses sensors that keep track of your home's layout, and vSLAM technology to map the interior. This allows it to steer clear of obstacles, like stairs and other barriers, and to tidy up your entire home in the most efficient way possible. As for the mopping system, I was impressed by its ability to scrub hard dirt off my floors. The two mopping settings that it has which are less powerful than high-powered modes, produce very minimal noise, meaning you can work or even watch television without getting distracted. It will gently hit a wall or furniture and then move on whenever it comes across one.

The Q Revo is unique in that it operates almost completely on its own, with no user involvement. The robo-vac comes with a multi-function dock that automatically moves physical garbage into the hidden bin and washes and drys the mop pads and refills its clean water tank.
